The Perfect Hideaway In Monpazier

Our rustic hideaway holiday home La Petite Grange has had a makeover! RustiKatie and the team spent 10 days down in Monpazier (Dordogne) replacing and extending the decking – adding a super-chill new hammock area – re-painting the shutters, re-concreting the steps, taming the garden and generally making the place even more awesome. An outdoor fridge next to the BBQ on the porch means you can now keep your beers cold and close at hand while you relax on the comfy chairs looking out at the view over the fields and listening to tunes on the outdoor speakers. Heaven! The pictures say it much better than I can – what do you think?!summer south france

Pretty sure that porch is the most relaxing place on earth – it’s certainly my happy place 🙂 We fired up the hot tub in the evening, and jumped in the pool to cool off while we worked in the sun – temperatures reached into the 30s despite it only being May. With all the new sun loungers laid out around the pool, hammocks swaying in the breeze and the new flowers we planted looking pretty and colourful, it was really hard to leave, but we did… just 2 hours before our first summer holidaymakers arrived.

La Petite Grange is in Monpazier, a bastide town listed “one of the most beautiful villages in France”. It dates from the 1200s and still has a beautiful medieval square – a lovely spot for a holiday in the Dordogne. The barn is just round the corner from the town but hidden away down a track. It’s the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Check out our AirBnB reviews.
